OUR MISSION

The BIS Services are committed to providing a person centered quality service to individuals living with traumatic or acquired brain injuries and neurological illness. The support we offer encompasses community based cognitive rehabilitation and the development of person specific approaches to daily living skills. By working with the clients and their families in their own home, we aim to maximise independence, so that individuals may live more effectively in their communities.

The BIS Services place strong emphasis upon meeting identified individual needs and each support package reflects this. Valuing dignity, privacy, individuality and equality supports the individual’s lifestyle.

We provide specialised brain injury rehabilitation workers who can provide continuity and consistency of approach and who understand brain injury and the values of social integration.All rehabilitation staff have achieved the minimum of a degree in Psychology or related field, with most staff obtaining further qualifications. All our brain injury rehabilitation workers are reliable, responsible and excellent role models.

The individual is at the centre of all aspects relating to their support.A range of cognitive rehabilitation strategies are implemented in using a variety of methods, developed specifically to the needs of the client, their deficits and their remaining skills.

The BIS Services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (previously the Commission for Social Care Inspectorate or CSCI) and now monitored against the Health & Social Care Act 2008. We are registered as a rehabilitation service, indicating our specialism in the cognitive rehabilitation field.
